Many liberal Jews want to see an Israel that reflects universal values, not as a state seeking to conquer more territory because of the risks that entails for the future. One cannot continue with the status quo and say "We only need a minority of diaspora Jews, we don't need European, Asian, Latin American support". It doesn't work that way in an era of globalization. It's not the 12th century. We are in 2011.
