The problem is very simple we have this tiny piece of land that was jewish 3000 years ago, became arab 2000 years ago and muslim/arab 1500 years ago. The two parties beleive in the legitimacy of their claim in somewhat equal respects. The only difference is that at the moment, the zionists have the upper hand militarly, so what do they do? do they impose a wise peace on the other side (that is a peace were both parties win a lot, lose a little)? NO They want it all. some poster here claimed that all the arabs had to do was recognize israel's right to exist, then we can negotiate every thin!! Isn't that what happened in oslo? and the result, the palistians watch as thier land slipped from under them (more setelemnts were built after oslo than ever). No, the zionists are betting on heavenly intervension (just like most of the arabs, lol)which will keep them stronger for ever (a first in human history), which I am afraid will never come for either side
