If this is possible, why can't arrogance and incitement give way to a relationship where every day the pain and concerns, the hopes and the fears of the OTHER are taken into account, when they can be talked about in a warm, and frinedly way. PEACE is as urgent as fighting the fire of hate and denial of the other. Imagine Israel would be as urgently concerned with the blaze that settlements and segregation cause, and the PA would be as concerned for the urgency of peace talks, not leaving long months of moratorium go by. Just replace the urgency of a fire with the urgency for peace. Sound simple, sounds naïve, sounds absurd, but who would have said that Israel's PM would talk over the phone with Erdogan, wioth Abbas, that small PA would offer help to Israel, that Jordnaina and Egyptians fire squads would come to help? These few hours of humanness should be a token, should not be allowed to pass as a fleeting dream, but turned into a real opportunity to end settlements, recognize Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, and get to the core issues once and for all, and sign the peace accord that enables a viable, peaceful, secure Palestinian state in freedom and dignity, fighting Iranian penetration, alongside a secure and peaceful state of Israel. How on earth can a fire create what human will doesn't? FIRE IS AS URGENT AS PEACE.
