Russia just wants to make some money and get Arab support. Putin thinks that by selling these missiles to Syria he can gain some of the support that Russia used to have when it was a superpower in the region. Russia has always supplied weapons to the Arab countries so this is nothing new, what is new is the fact that they are trying to be peace maker and arms dealer at the same time. I'm not to worried about these missiles ending up in terrorist hands because if they do, it would a) prove that Syria is arming the terrorists and Israel and the US would need to take action; b) Russia knew these weapons would be given to terrorists; c) Russia really did not want terrorists to have these weapons and therefore Syria lied to Russia. In any instance, I would not be surprised if Israel or the US decides to sell some advanced weapons to some breakaway Soviet Republics. For all of you who say that these weapons will just stop Israel from illegally entering Syrian airspace and that Israel is the country that is not obeying international rules, ask your self this: should Israel do what Syria does and send in quasi military personnel into another sovereign nation to commit terrorist acts?
