The poor relations between Isreal and the UNGA are notorious - here, from the Isreali perspecitve, described as a 'stain'. Simply labelling the UN as anti-semitic, however, is a convenient way to avoid the real reasons why the UNGA might be anti-israel. Israel does not now and never has respected the UN brokered 'green line.' Israel secretly developed nuclear weapons in spite of the strong UN stance against proliferation. Israeli forces actually admit to using assassinations and extra-territorial kidnappings as legitimate tactics, tactics which the UN and the vast majority of nations rightly despise. Expansion of Israeli settlements and limitations on the movements of palestinians likely constitute direct contraventions of UN resolutions and. In a potentially related development, Israel doesn't support the ICC. Now I'm not suggesting that Israel doesn't have good reasons for pursuing these policies, although I personally disagree with all of them. But what I am saying is that it is not surprising the UN does not get along well with Israel, when they sop consistently fail to see eye to eye on so many issues. Let's not pretend the UN is blindly anti-semitic. Whether you agree with Israel or the UN on these or other points, it is at least clear that their mutual distrust is well founded on historical and present behaviour, not blind racism.
