Had the public been asked in 1948 whether to establish the State, they might have been persuaded by 5-star Gen. George Marshall's argument that it was better to wait awhile. But Ben Gurion exerted his influence on the other leaders, and got a majority for an immediate declaration of independence. Netanyahu can easily do the same with respect to the freeze. He is in a much simpler situation because he can go for an alternative coalition. But Netanyahu does not lead, he is a political coward. The wrong man for the moment. He should be replaced.
