The rabbi's comment is puzzling, considering that the current President, Václav Klaus, is a Christian - a member of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. Meanwhile, the chairs of the parliamentarian parties all practice some variety of religion, mostly Roman Catholicism. The chairman of the Communist party is the sole exception. This thing about the Czech Republic being somehow exceptionally atheistic is, sadly, just a stale cliché.
