The truth is that Israel values land more than it values peace, peace with the Palestinians and peace with its neighbors. Israel wants the bulk of the land in the West Bank with as few Palestinians as possible on that land. Already Israel controls so much of the West Bank that a Palestinian state is all but impossible. In fact Israel and its supporters did not start talking about a two-state solution until the implementation of that policy was impossible to attain. It makes for good talk but that is all it is, just talk. Melissa is correct. Israel was offered peace and turned it down.
