Does the right of return imply expropriation of all Palestinian land? Land is very important: people deserve to belong to a sate which should provide them with the basics of territory and security, it feeds and inspires, it gives hope and protection. But human life and freedom are sacred beyond land. If a wall around a Jewish state could solve all the eyars of mistrust and poisoned relationships, I would go and help build it myself. My main fear is extremism in any shape or form, especially from the Israeli side, which could undermine any future peaceful solution. The trouble is that there are forces on both sides who specifically want all out war, the self proclaimed martyrs and messianists who believe in accomplishing some divine plan. Life, security, the family are sacred.
