I was born in Washington DC & attended a Jewish day school which still exists. My parents didn't undergo the Shoah, & it was never discussed in school. In retrospect I'm angry at my family & educators for this. I've been living in Jerusalem for more than 40 years now, & I learned about the Shoah as a student in Hebrew U. I hope that in the US nowadays the subject is presented properly to Jewish children. As your article shows very well, they are very capable of dealing with it. Don't over-protect Jewish children. They don't need it.
