You are completely correct when you say that Abbas has no partner for peace. To anyone who has watched the situation it should be obvious that no Palestinian leader has ever had a partner for peace. Oh yes, Israel says it wants peace and I have no doubt that most Israelis do want peace. But there are enough Israelis who believe that settlement building, theft of Palestinian water and land resources and the oppression of the Palestinians are more important than a peace that would require them to end their colonial dreams and return to the 1967 line. Meanwhile Israeli actions only increase the hatred for Israel among the Palestinians who live under the Israeli boot.
