Khalid,if the Palestinian people's agenda wasn't so obtuse, you may get a play here. Israel IS a democratic country, albeit under duress from belligerent arab neighbours all the way around. The Palestinian agenda is not clear. Conflicting messages constantly by Hamas are its biggest problem to credibility. Abbas,as the good guy and maybe the soon to be dead good guy,is not the guy to ask (No doubt there is a Jewish conspiracy there lurking even though he isnt even dead yet) The Jewish lobby,AIPAC, is not condoned by all Jews because of its right wing agenda. Yes there were Jewish Neo cons involved in the think tank that brought Saddam Hussiens regime down but most Americans were for that move (I wasnt because for other reasons, namely for the vacumn that would be left and thinking it would bolster Iran to jump in,which they are) As far as Israel being criticized in New York as opposed to Tel Aviv,we Jews have varying opinions based on justice, unlike the Pals for whom loyalty is all.
