Khalid, I'm not an Orthodox Jew (an Orthodox Jew wouldn't touch computer on the holy Shabbat). You are wrong when you say that Orthodox Jews don't consider other Jews as believers. "Let alon others" - is a simple lie. Every religion has its own extremists, that's true. But you, however don't ever see extremeists in your religion. Radicalism in Christianity peaked in the Middle Ages, while Islam was far more peaceful in comparison. Nowadays, Islam faces an onslaught of extremism - just looking around the world confirms this. Blaming all on Israel no longer works. In any case, if you remember, Salman Rushdie was threatened with death for writing deemed blashemous. Perhaps reformation & moderation movements that took place in Christianity & Judaism are what is needed in mainstream Islam as well. btw, this weekend we'll have hundres of thousands of supporters of Israel marching here in nyc - there'll be both orthodox, reform & conservatives along with people of different faiths.

This Valentine's day, celebrate not love, but the sublime bond of friendship

Friendship is free of the indignities, suffering and drama that characterize romantic love; it doesn't have an expiration date; we rarely suspect it to be a figment of our imagination. But love is what fuels our economy.
