The 2-state principle is as old as the1920s with the Palestine Mandate territory split into Arab and Jew "homelands". But today the 2-state solution means dividing the Jewish homeland between Israel and Palestine. Fine. The Israel government has already agreed to the principle. But Kerry's speech to a Jewish-American audience tries to just raise fears of what the PA might do to gain legitimacy (membership in other UN agencies, protest movement and PA collapse). Shouldn't he also be speaking to Arab-American audiences and ask them to convey to their brethren the need to get the PA to come to the negotiating table and make the (new) 2-state solution a reality? What "pressure" is he applying to them?
