As long as politics can be kept out of the Limmud agenda altogether, the idea is great. From what I have seen and read and from speaking to some who have attended, politics is right there. The fact that it leans left is no surprise. One would think that the intellectuals would embrace a non-politicized meeting of the minds, and if not non-politicized, then make absolutely sure that both left and right are equally represented. Sadly, I have no faith what-so-ever that this will ever be done this way which then makes the Limmud gatherings rather divisive. No thanks.
