After 2008 there might be real hope, with a new US president. But keep hope alive so the Palestinians don't get too desperate and start a new Intifada. The peace negotiations did not start today, but a few months ago, with negptiations that could have produced some progress in the form of some agreed principles for peace. Not much has happened. The best the side could do so far was to come up with mostly empty talk about the desire for peace in a year. Let us see if the Palestinians are buying the spin, and if Olmert's coalition can hold. I assume that if real negotiations start about Jerusalem and more, Lieberman and Shas will leave. This is not the end of the world. The question is: Will Olmert appease them again or would he push ahead?
