Alas, this reply to your post yesterday didn't make it. But I insist you must have, so here goes again: I have every reason to denigrade the settlers - especially the fanatics of Hebron. Aren't they the poster children for abusive settlement policies? And not just one or two incidents either, but a pattern of daily hasrassment. The recent one reported by Amira just happened to have reporters who filmed the incident. Most barely get a mention. Is that by the way OK with you that the palestinian residents have been banned from town center and the market for so long? by what name would you care to call the policy that brought this about? You want comparisons of others who done bad stuff. Alas, those tend to have names like Kirkuk (Saddam's policy settling Arabs there), darfur and Algier. Of these Darfur is already recognized as crime, in Kirkuk a heart wrenching reversal is happening with new cleansing by the Kurds. Algier already kicked settlers out. What's left? Ah, there's Tibet!

This Valentine's day, celebrate not love, but the sublime bond of friendship

Friendship is free of the indignities, suffering and drama that characterize romantic love; it doesn't have an expiration date; we rarely suspect it to be a figment of our imagination. But love is what fuels our economy.
