I used to take a softer line on this site (under a different nick) too but I realized that most of our detractors, as in real life, are Arabs and Arabs see compromise as weakness. My writing was misquoted and taken out of context and I caught wise that you cannot be soft on the issues. If you give an inch they want the whole measuring tape. I saw that by negotiating my right wing, hard-line position I had allowed the center to drift further left. All of a sudden "Palestine" was a given, a mere starting point to negotiations. The question was no longer: Do we give them a country? It had become: Which borders are we going to return to 67' or 47'? This was a ridiculous situation for two reasons: a) The Arabs have nothing to offer in the negotiations other than need b) I am a poster on an internet talkback, not a statesmen in the UN I feel that aggressiveness is necessary but it is insane to take this place (or oneself) too seriously That said, I agree with your posts and enjoy their style
