the only way he could be expected to talk about this issue is by excusing the haredim, and turning the column into a standard pro-settler, anti-arab rant. as for the haredim, yeah, there ARE different rules for t hem. specifically, the government gives them free money to do nothing but have dozens of children. there are different rules for the settlers too - they're allowed to steal, attack and harass whoever they want and are given a slap on the wrist at most. as for arabs kidnapping underage jewish girls...well, show me an actual case of this happening and i'll believe you. somehow, i think it would be headline news, and not some under-reported story suppressed by the press. it reminds me of the racist rhetoric used in the US in the olden days to stir lynch mobs up into a frenzy - just talk about some unspecified white woman seduced or raped by a black man and just like that you've got yourself a bloodthirsty mob.
