A German Jew is appointed as a minister to the German government, and a member of parliament speaks out calling this a violation of German principles, and damaging to the character of a German state. Must I elaborate what the outcry all over the world, and most of all in Israel, would be? While I realize and appreciate that a vast majority of MKs opposes the remarks of this questionable woman, it remains a fact that the Knesset provides a stage for an openly-racist party, and that the government sees no harm in hopping in bed with the same party. At least this is inconceivable in a civilized democratic state like Germany.
