The problem with Judaism a la the American Conservative and Reform movements is that most of the children of their adherents have married gentiles, and now have non-Jewish children. I speak from experience. Thirteen of my seventeen first cousins have already gone this path, and all have Christian children. A question is whether new energy in these movements can hold the interest of the remnant that's left, and can infuse the remnant's children to want to remain Jewish when they grow up. My guess is that only Jewish orthodoxy has the tools to propagate itself.
