I have stated several years ago that the anthem should be rephrased once our dream has come true anyway, since we already are free in our homeland, zion[Jerusalem]: Like adding a line or a stanza promising equality to all the citizens etc so that arabs and others would be able to sing or identify! Justice M. ben Porath suggested this years ago and the late Begin did not reject the idea outright when I wrote him many decades ago. It is not about 48, a mad war went on, amongst complete anarchy, we abused and killed the arabs too....There can be no pardon or compensation for the systematic discrimination of israeli arabs after 48 [Mimshal tsvayi] etc...Any such ''collective restriction'' is basically undemocratic. Yes! our historical right is sacred, certain and eternal, even if it cannot be implemented in parts of the land or at all. But why should I expulse or persecute the arabs [now palestinians] I do not understand!

from the article: Arab justice's 'Hatikva' silence was a song of protest
