I thought that the Jordanians occupied the West Bank in 1948/9 and annexed it in contravention of international law. Sound familiar? The so-called pre '67 borders were just the armistice line between Jewish and Arab forces. Until 1967 it became the de facto border but was never recognised by most of the world and by none of the Arab world, most of which still do not recognise Israel as a state, in any borders. However the Green Line is an obvious starting point for a negotiated peace deal with land swaps where appropriate.
