Shalit's situation is unlike that of Johnston. He will not be released as a good gesture towards the Israelis, too much Palestinian blood was spilled in his name. Israel killed over 400 Palestinians and maimed thousands more in their attempt to release him. That alone puts a very high price for his return. Israel had many chances to reach a deal and in the process have Fatah steal the credit. Now, no matter what Hamas gets for him, they will be the ones that are credited for his release and the release of the Palestinian prisoners.
