Howdy Johnboy; I'm not that well acquainted with the League of Nations, but the general intent of the victorious Allies after WW I (minus the U.S. which never joined that august body) was to bust up the Ottoman Empire into as many pieces as possible (amongst other things) and incorporated such things as the Versailles Treaty, the Sykes-Pico Agreement, the Balfour Declaration, and the Pell something or other. The general intent was to reserve the Palestinian Mandate west of the Jordan River for Jews and the eastern part (Trans-Jordan) for Arabs. Well, the whole imperialistic plan got blown to hell by WW II and we're still trying to cope with the consequences of the diplomatic blunders of the League of Nations today especially with respect to the Middle East.
