Suppose that Palestine nonviolently declares their independence. What does that get them? They are still under occupation. Israelis can still do anything they want. The UN cannot protect their 1967 borders or any other borders, unless somebody provides the troops. Would the USA do that? Say it was Russia. And say Israel bombs those troops while they are in Jordan, coming from -- Turkey? Iraq? Saudi arabia? Egypt? Presumably Israel would take the Sinai again to get a defensible border. Perhaps a defensible corner of Saudi arabia and Jordan. Would the USA want a russian army coming through Turkey, Jordan, Saudi arabia etc? Would USA fight for Israel's right to keep the West Bank & Sinai? Would USA side with the UN against Israel? USA would desperately need new codes. Israel likely can read all existing ones. Lots of ex-US military guys are in the IDF now. Lots of cryptographers etc. They make some US military communications equipment. Think about it. What a mess.
