"But today`s announcement by the Bush folks about allowing a nuclear India to be exempt from any nuclear trading ban is not going to go down well with nuclear wanna-bes." Even more than India, nuclear wanna-bes point to a nuclear Israel as an example of Western hypocrisy in the face of a possible nuclear Iran or Arab state. I would also hope that if you are concerned about a nuclear India, you are even more concerned about its foe, nuclear Pakistan. You are right, though, when you say that war, and the consequent waste of human life, is not a solution. The problem is compounded when we stop and think of the kind of damage our countries' weapons can inflict on our earth today. I would be interested in hearing your speculation on what might be happening silently in the background.
