It seems to me that the land the JNF appropriated does not legally belong to that institution, and therfore should be "redeemed". Why shouldn't every citizen of this country be allowed to use the land to build on? Why shouldn't every citizen be allowed to live in any city town or settlement without fear of prejudice? The concepts of 'Jewish state" and 'democracy' are not mutually exclusive. In fact ensuring that all citizens of Israel have equal rights in actuality, rather than on paper, will help foster mutual understanding. By keeping the populations separate, only fear and misunderstanding are perpetuated. E. Goldstein
