The Palestinians lost their big offensive military gambles over the decades to the Israelis and are in no position to dictate to the victor the over-arching parameters of any peace arrangements. It is Israel that painfully acquired strategic depth in a very small piece of land and they're not going to foolishly bargain it away with the bad faith of the militant Palestinians who can't wait for the Jewish State to be in a more vulnerable situation so some external Muslim messiah can help them to eradicate Israel. Israel "yells and screams" about Iran not for the simplistic reason you give but because the military modus operandi of the cowardly regime in Tehran uses highly paid terror proxy shock troops to inflict damage on Israel and has so far avoided any direct retribution on the motherland while Lebanon and Gaza have had to absorb Israel's withering strikes.
