Beinart makes just one mistake in his analysis. The real champion of JS 2 was Menachem Begin, not Yitzhak Rabin. Begin learned about liberal inclusion from his mentor, Zev Jabotinsky, who had no problem accepting the possibility of a non-Jewish Prime Minister for the future Jewish State. The racialist exclusionism which Beinart wants to tar the right with is, of course, the preserve of the left, which openly justifies its willingness to abandon parts of our national patrimony on the basis of racialist demography.
