I strongly disagree with Yalon. First of all, Israel is a bi-national state, within which, Jews form a majority. Why would the PA recognize that Israel is something that it is not? Second, recognition of a sovereign entity in international relations requires a degree if reciprocity. If the PA is to recognize Israel as a sovereign entity, then it should receive the same treatment in return. Did Netanyahu offer recognition of Palestine in return? I don't think so. The offer was a temporary settlement freeze, not full recognition. To me, Netanyahu's gesture was an insult to the Arab side. And what will follow is the breakdown of talks.
