Read Maimonides, people. You'll find no better expert on what the Torah and its traditional interpreters of the rabbinic period say and do not say, mean and do not mean. Jewish "chosenness" is a quid pro quo. Jews who choose God and the covenant, are "chosen" for the commandments, an opportunity to better ourselves and our society. Jews who do not, are absolutely and in no way different from anyone else. Of course gentiles can be just as righteous as Jews by their own paths, it simply wouldn't be the covenantal path of the Torah. THAT is Jewish doctrine. The anti-maimonideans introduced or emphasized chauvinism wherever they could. They had no scholarly basis to do so.
