For several years we, the only Jewish family living in a Arab village found peace, security and quiet amongst them. In fact, during the Yom Kippur then now only protected us but our property there as well when we rtn to the kibbutz where manpower was badly needed. Today, the only Jewish family there, settlers, sit atop the hill, large flag, barbed wire ghetto, having to be protected by Israeli guards. We only left the village when I was drafted to respect our neighbors from any potential hard liners that might be there. In short, respect them, and it will be returned tenfold.
