Right wing Israelis get a certain amount of satisfaction talking about the acrimony between the major Arab sects. In fact, Israel has it's own issues with Jewish sects. Ah, but the Jewish sects don't kill each other we are told. That is true for the moment but there is a good reason it is true. Certain groups, primarily the settlers and the Haredi are handled with kid gloves by the Israeli government Realizing that Israel doesn't need internal strife at the moment, the government will not even make much of an attempt to enforce the law on the settlers and the Hardei. This doesn't mean that no laws are enforced. it means that both groups have certain hot button issues that the Israeli government will take great care not to press. As for internal Israeli strife, just press the buttons for instant gratification. If those buttons are not pressed now, they will become more difficult to press as time goes by.
