Arab capital. At the most for only 19 years most of its residents were Arabs as a result of an agreesive war, 1948, during which Jews were expelled from the city. For Muslims the city holds a secondary importance to other sites, and it is not mentioned in the Quran even one time. For Jews on the other hand Jerusaelm has been the capital city for nearly 3,000, even after they have been forcefully expelled from it. Jerusaelm is mentioned numerous times in our writings and is referred to daily several times during our prayers. Jerusalem is the capital city of the Jewish state of Israel and there is no reason on earth why it should not continue to be so. Note - When we talk about Jerusaelm we mean first and foremost the Old City of Jerusaelem and its immediate vicinity.
