After moving here in 1980 we moved to jerusalem in 84. We are now considering leaving (3 of our 5 kids already have). the city is dirty, noisy, and getting uglier as the building violations mount all over the city. Obviously the proporional increase int he haredi and Arab populations make the city poorer and the people are more interested in another room than aesthetics. If left to natural development, the city is doomed. The country has a moral obligation to all Jews, to history and the future, and for that matter to all religions to create a viable city for working residents. I am not optimistic.
