Lapid is a snak oil salesman, he promises to be something different to everybody. His has a rabbi on his list so he is not anti religious. He tells the secular he is going to make the haredi do this, that and the other, the left wing he tells he is committed to the peace process and will not join a coalition that isn't and he is Mr social justice. The right wing he tells he will never give up Jerusalem, allow a right of return or compromise on security. To the young voters he tells them the sort of things they would like to hear. When you sum up Lapid though what do you have other than a tv presenter who has no political experience, he has very few if any experienced politicians amongst his ranks and a smooth talker. Tthis whole party is because he wants a political career but doesn't want to do things the hard way of working his way through the ranks of a mainream party so he uses his fame and builds a party around himself and no matter what promises he makes he will sell his Knesset seats to anybody who will pay his price. Is that really the kind of egotistical rookie you want to see running the country? I imagine the first thing Bibi will do is give Lapid a low rank cabinet posting because even though he doesn't need Lapid which is why he doesn't need to give him a senior position it keeps his votes in Bibi's pocket for reserve. Providing nothing unexpected happens Bibi will probably still be PM in January and his coalition will be so large nobody can challenge him and he will have his little pet Lapid doing whatever his master commands so he can have a junior cabinet posting.
