Jane, fantasies in your head cannot be defeated except by psychiatric intervention. There is NO conspiracy so vast of unified international Islamic extremism. It is right up there with the vast international communist conspiracy so vast that paranoids were screaming about in the 1950s. There are Islamist extremists. They have many organizations. Most of those organizations are local in interest and activity. Each has to be seen as what it is in order to best cope with it. Lumping them together into a fantasy creation is counter productive.
