Its based on socialism and socialism is dead in Israel and political socialism is a dying concept worldwide and in a global economy we cannot stand tall and say we wish to be the sole voice of socialism. Today it is capitalism thats king. We also cannot get on with the arabs. The left seem to have this idea that we have war on Sunday but on Monday we can unilaterally decide to wake up and be at peace with the arabs. The arab world hates us, we hate the arab world, the arabs in Israel hate the Jews and likewise the Jews in Israel hate the arabs. The whole climate is one of hatred by all sides. Arabs will also never give up their claim to all of Israel even if we give the palestinians a state for them it will be a foot in the door and the conflict doesn't end until there is a binational state in which Jews are not given any preference. Until all arabs recognize Israel as a JEWISH state rather than a state with Jews immorally ruling over it for the benefit of Jews we will never have real peace no matter how many treaties we sign. Jabotinsky wanted a Jewish state ruled for and ruled over by Jews not the binational one which is the only solution to have a chance of any kind of real peace between Jews & arabs. Fact is Jabotinskies vision might have worked during his lifetime when socialism was the new fashion and the concept of capitalism was something that concerned only the very rich. Also back then for most zionists a Jewish state was just to provide a homeland for the European Jews escaping persecution the concept of a Jewish state for most zionists of the time was not about returning to the ancient jewish homeland, most were not even after an independent state just the right to go live in Palestine and be safe. Today everything has changed. Socialism is dead, even the kibbutz which is the only place socialism really worked the way envisioned to have now become companies, their members earn money and how much they earn is based on their skill so even in the kibbutz the concept of rich and poor has replaced equality. Zionism today is an ideological movement. So Jabotinskies vision for the most part gone down the toilet. Israel will also live by the sword as long as it has to, you have to hope for peace and prepare for war so Israel will continue to arm itself, we will not become a nation of pacifists.
