    Agreed that individual Israelis should not be judged in any on the basis of the worst of Israeli behaviour, ie the occupation, house demolition etc but I think the frustration of people from Western democracies, whether from USA, Europe, Australia and so on, is that OUR governments routinely protect Israel, and in the case of USA give obscene amounts of money to it. OK, this article is not about the BDS, but I link the growing support for BDS from people in Western democracies with our growing frustration with OUR governments to not only hold Israel to account in any way but go out of their way to support and praise it. It is this, rather than some comparison of Israel to other less than democratic states that motivate us. If OUR governments won't act, then we have to - however we can and even though our individual efforts are little in themselves. Israelis, whether they be the worst of settlers or the best of doctors engaged with humanitarian aid need to understand this. It may not always be fair but please don't think that PR regarding aid to other states in need, will ever provide any cover for the racism and crulty Israel routinely meets out to Palestinians.
