Israel isn't happy about this sale and may have to rethink naval tactics in some areas but whilst officially in an attempt to block the sale Israel overplays the threat. If Russia was going to be giving Syria paper airplanes Israel would make alot of noise about how these paper planes will change the balance of power in the region because soldiers might find them distracting or they might get sucked into the engine of a fighter jet.. Always when it comes to military technology its about staying 1 step ahead. Syrians get more advanced anti ship missiles so Israel will develop more advanced ship defense systems to cope with the next generation of missiles. Israel will also probably rely more and more on its submarine fleet in wartime because these can fire both missiles and torpedos and an anti ship missile can't kill a submarine. The ships are also just one of Israels offensive platforms it still has tanks that are far superior to anything Syria has, it has superior planes and pilots, combat UAVS it has missiles capable of hitting just about any country in the world and missile defenses to stop enemy missiles. Israel can still have tanks rolling down the streets of Damascus even if every single one of its ships were sunk.
