Picture this; ' People, obviously civilians because of their lack of weapons and worried appearance, approach soldiers in a war zone. They are allowed to pass because, hey, they're unarmed. As soon as they get close, one of them detonates a vest and BOOM!' The result being that a couple of youngsters just out of their teens on their first tour of duty, get sent home with missing limbs or worse. Its a scenario that has happened several times and now fear & suspicion have set in and the IDF commanders instruct their subordinates accordingly. I'm not trying to debate the morality of the Israeli / Palestinian situation. Just trying to show how civilians that dont obey orders given by an armed soldier to halt, can get themselves killed. Hell, I would have stopped if that M16 were pointed at me. And you ?
