Circumcision is actually healthy for the child which is why many non jewish men get it done later in life. Things still function as they should so no worry there, the child never known what its like not to be circumcised, so the idea they are traumatised by it hold no weight, sure there are some but just a handful and some people can be traumatised by just the smallest thing but in 99% of cases people are just fine as long as they never knew any different. The real problem this not circumcision it not giving the child a right to refuse because its a ritual thing and we live in a society which is increasingly secular and obsessed with rights so a rieligious ritual that involves damaging part of the body without consent is wrong to them. Same problem they really have with shecchita, they don't care if its the kindest and quickest way to kill an animal or not its because the method of killing the animal is associated with a religious ritual. Take away the religious aspect they may well decide kashrut is the way to go. its the fault of political correctness of secularism and secularism. You put them together the religion that practises it will come under fire and there will be calls for it to end.
