Israel would refuse to recognize a state declared unilaterally. Israel wouldn't suddenly pack up all the settlements the soldiers would stay the only difference is we would rather than defending jews in disputed territory it would be defending jews in a self proclaimed state. The palestinians won't get stronger because they decalared independence. Israel would not provide any corridor between Judea & Samaria and Gaza more likely would make travel more difficult. Israel would consider all oslo commitments void so things like agreements on water etc it would refuse to honor. Both sides would go out of the way to make life as hard as possible for the other out of hatred It would create a rift between jews & Israeli arabs and they would be persecuted for supporting the enemy It would make future negotiations impossible because no palestinian leader will be able to make concessions without being called traitor & probably executed Israel won't accept palestinian decision to go it alone

from the article: What would happen if Palestinians unilaterally declared statehood?
