The nation is 80 million people. Only 25 million people voted and of that 52% voted for the Islamist. That is roughly higher than the number who voted for the Brotherhood in the Parliament, where they got 47% of the vote. So the MAJORITY voted for Morsi. The government tried their Mubarak tricks to fudge the numbers, but the best they could do was still show the majority wanted the Islamist. I suspect that there is more going on in the Egyptian military than we can see. Many in the military are also Islamists or Islamist sympathizers. I suspect that at some point the Military will see its own coup from junior Officers and NCOs.
