Remember, it wasn't a good year for the Empire either. As Jim Lobe points out in his column below. (see URL). Washington got bogged in Iraq and the Taliban is on the rise in Afghanistan; and Sinora was challeged by Hezbollah; and North Korea wasn't listening. In addition, Russia was wheeling and dealing with Bush's enemies and Rumsfeld and Bolton have already been shown the door. Still, I am looking forward to 2008 when I can do a Munchkin type song and dance: Ding Dong! The Bush is gone: Which old Bush? The young one! Ding Dong! The wicked Bush is gone! Wake up -- sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed. Wake up, the Wicked Bush is gone! He's gone where the cowboys roam, Below - below -- below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out... (Repeat if you wish...) (http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/thewizardofoz/dingdongthewitchisdead.htm) Dutch P.S. I am hoping to do a similar song and dance for the end of the occupation too! Don't disappoint me. P.P.S. Jim Lobe: A Bad Year for the Empire http://www.ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=35951
