It was a reasonable stance in a complicated world. Israel refrained from making official statements in deference to its ally, the only Muslim-majority, secular democracy in the middle east. However, Israel, as the Jewish State, has a moral obligation to make a firm declaration about the atrocities on WWI and Hilter referred to when planning the Final Solution. With Turkey's lurch toward the Islamists, this is probably the best time to take a principled stand, and then in the future, rebuild relations with this skeleton out of the closet. After almost 100 years, it's time of modern Turkey to come to terms with its own past.
