that we ,Israel, are once again shooting us in the foot. For years since the start in 1948,Israel had support financial and more from other Jewish folk around the world. So if Israel has chosen to ignore upkeep of Arab interests here, what is there (except unfairness), to stop 'outside' Arabs from supporting their own if we wont do it. It comes to mind that 35 yrs ago when in the UK,our local Jewish community had a group which took the elderly poor on bus trips, finishing with tea and cakes at a nice hotel. We did it to support our own, that they should not suffer ,nor be a burden on the wider community.I once discovered an isolated Jewish old lady living in a non Jewish neighbourhood, and invited her to join a trip. The non Jewish member of staff in the pharmacy where I worked found it hard to understand why I would single this lady out,and not invite EVERY other resident of her street along.I feel that there is some parallel to be drawn .

Why we don't know how to pick our leaders

Our craving for ideology means that we are partial to ideological leaders. But we need leaders who will make smart decisions that are aligned with the public interest.
