It would be a sane gesture. Israel could still maintain that it was basically in the right, but it would be saying that mistakes were made on both sides that night. That would be a sane message to send out. But Bibi's government is not into sane messages. Bibi's government prefers to send out the message 'we are 100 per cent right, you're 100 per cent wrong and if you continue to disagree with us you're our enemy'. That's how it's responded to almost everyone who disagrees with it and it's no surprise therefore that the list of people of Israel's opponents gets longer by the day and the list of its friends gets shorter.
