Our responsibility is to protect Israel, not the Gazans. For too long we have been nurturing an environment of dependency in which Gaza has relied on Israel for their basic needs. This is an extremely unhealthy co-existence. On the one hand they seek our destruction & despise Israels existence. On the other hand they rely on Israel for their electricity, water and flour. It is like a murderous knife-wielding fetus within the belly of its mother, with the desire to kill its surrogate at first opportunity. For humanity's sake, we should not cut off supplies to Gaza in a single stroke, but rather in a gradual process to allow new life-lines to be developed. The time-scale should be in weeks-months for food, and a warning of 5 years advance before electricity and water is cut off. We need to close and seal off Erez and other Israeli crossings. The Philadelphia route needs to be taken again if smuggling of rockets and artillery continue to take place (as expected).
